Quicksand Golf Course, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in San Angelo, Texas, overlooking the Concho River.
Quicksand Golf Course first opened for play in 1996. The course was designed by Dr. Michael Hurdzan.
The course is a nice blend of desert and links-style architecture, with prominent use of sand. Five tees, ranging from 5,023 yards to 7,171 yards allow all skill levels the ability to select their appropriate level of challenge.
Front Nine __________
#5 has an elevated island green, surrounded by sand, not water.
#7, is the signature hole and also the most difficult hole on the course. This hole measures 621 yards has a double dogleg and is lined by 22 bunkers.
Back Nine __________
#16 has an approach over water to a small green.
#17 requires a 200-yard carry over water.
#18 is a long par 4 with a fairway lined by water on the left, and a difficult approach into an almost island green.

Gold tees: par-72, 6,693 yards
Blue tees: par-72, 6,120 yards
White tees: par-72, 5,606 yards
Red tees: par-72, 5,023 yards

My son and I played friday afternoon. It was stacked up had to wait atleast 5 minutes on every tee box.

Fairways were in good shape. Greens were good, fast. Snack bar lady was extremely slow that day not usually. Have very good breakfast burrito's.

Bring your sand wedge and be prepared for some monster bunkers. There is also quite a bit of water for a West Texas golf course. Be prepared for 3-club wind or a crosswind of equal strength. This isn't an easy course but is a great deal of fun.
